Called a local nursing home today to ask about their adult daycare. I got wonderful information, and with my brothers help, thinking we could have our mom go there twice a week. This will take some persuading. Her initial response will be frowning and a no answer. I'm not going to be asking, though, but telling. Big difference.
She sits. Doesn't even do her occupational therapy anymore unless you remind her. Or walk, unless you remind her. Or brush her teeth. Same old dog. She sits. Exhausting.
My cousin (Mom's sister's daughter) is a nurse and is giving me feedback on places to check out. Lots of adult daycare focus on Alzheimer's patients, which isn't our issue.
But there is help out there.
Gives me a tiny degree of hope.
