Our military son flies home today (he's been here in the States), getting a brief stay till he has to leave again for more training. His final deployment is later in the summer and lots of hoops have to be jumped before then. Back and forth.

Miss Hazel will have a *fit* when she sees him, not to say his wife will as well. He's been gone a month. I have to tell you, he's a wonderful father. Very tuned into his role, and totally smitten with his little girl. So proud of him.

Going to relish this moment. Holiday weekend. All our kids safe. I need to appreciate the moment, avoid borrowing trouble, and relax.

Chill. Just this moment. Thankful.

Hello my friend,
I have been trying to catch up on some of your posts. I love that picture of your little granddaughter... Such big blue eyes and that curly mop of hair, adorable. I know her daddy is so glad to see her and spend some time with her before he is deployed. I know you are glad to be able to spend some time with him as well. All the cares and worries of being a mom never stop even after they have grown and entered the world does it. Praying you will know peace through all the challenges of parenthood.

I have been thinking about you and your dear family lately. I probably need to send an email. But one thing I must say, every time I pick up Middlemarch I remember your comment of itching! But I do not itch, I chuckle instead. And don't we all need to chuckle more?

It is my eldest daughter of whom I speak. She is home with me now, as well as Ivy. But mending is a process and a beach week is rapidly approaching where healing and mending can continue.

I love the image of a good daddy!
Blessings to you!
